This is essentially about getting four things right:

1. the right people
2. with the right attitudes
3. doing the right activities
4. in the right structure

However, most organisations have neither the time nor the expertise to devote to this and when change occurs, it is often piecemeal and carried out without any evaluation of the impact of the changes on the rest of the organisation.

Remodelling is a ‘systemic approach’ to change, that sees all four of the above as equally important, and recognises the need for the workforce to work together to achieve them.

Organisations today are very familiar with buying in expertise to solve a particular problem, however remodelling is radically different. The expertise being brought to bear on change is not to do with ‘content’ but with ‘process’ and how you go about tackling change by leveraging existing staff knowledge and skills. This can be very challenging as it requires some individuals to relinquish control, and others to take up their own authority. The process is deceptive as it appears simple, but is extraordinarily powerful and has proven to be an outstanding success in delivering change.
